Renee, you are always exceeding my expectations! This is just gorgeous. Your writing is so beautiful. It really resonated with me. I love your beautiful comparison to our creative journey and bulbs coming forth from the frozen ground. Such a great analogy. And the music was perfect too! Bravo my friend. ❤️

Your words and insight are always appreciated and inspiring Renee. I’ve been in a quiet mode of my own, reading, puzzling, and searching my heart for forward movement.

Hi Susan,

You have made my day! It was so much fun to do and a great exercise in looking at the work I did over the past month. I think keeping a visual diary and notes about the work is very helpful to the overall creative process. Thanks for the "chef's kiss" I loved it.

This sums me up perfectly. My husband and I have moved many times over the past 10 years. I have had to uproot myself and my creative space and move it again and again. And now I am in the middle of yet another move to a recently renovated barn space where we will have our creative spaces in the lofts overlooking the event space below. I completely understand that feeling of being disconnected from your creative self. It comes right back though doesn't it! Thank you!

Hi Pam,

Thank you for your message, and you're so right about inspiration. It always comes back, actually, maybe it doesn't ever leave, we just need to slow down, and make the space for it.

By the way, your creative spaces sound amazing!!

love,

Renee

Such beautiful words and stunning video. I totally get that 'overwhelming resistance!' but I try my hardest to resist by following the wise words of Dory in Finding Nemo - 'just keep swimming, just keep swimming!' :)

Thank you Renee for sharing your creativity so generously!

Renee, the video is so lovely and a window into your process, I'm so glad to see you share it. I found myself ill for most of January and have been struggling to get back into my art practice and exploration - I was so inspired with Winter Botanicals zoom class you held yesterday that my desk is overflowing with all sorts of sketches and little ink pieces, it was just the jump start that I needed. I've been struggling with this idea that everything I make has to be going somewhere, that the piece has to be something, so I've been stuck. The use of ink and water took me out of my head and took the "control" out of my hands - took me back to playing and exploring. Thank you for sharing your talent and inspiration with me.

Kim, thank you! I always appreciate your kind and thoughtful words regarding my art and classes. January can always be a difficult time to keep our creative momentum, and working on small projects - I like to think of them as creative meditations really. Can help move us forward We need to be okay with just creating with our an outcome in mind.

Thank you Renee.. I tried painting with tealeaves, but didn't know what to add so I added Matte Medium.. didnt work so well. I happen to have a ton of tea leaves, working on a piece where I emptied tons of teabags.
