Welcome to my first official post on Substack! After much reflection, I’ve envisioned this space as an art diary—a place to explore, share, and celebrate the creative process in all its forms.
There is something exciting about stepping into the flow of creativity. Whether you're a painter, writer, sculptor, photographer, designer, or dancer, I'm sure you've experienced how the act of creation ignites a spark that pulls us forward, free from the weight of outcomes or validation. It’s in these moments—when that creative current opens—that our truths are revealed. This is where we express ourselves most authentically, with no guide but our own unique vision.
When I talk with my creative friends, we often share those inevitable moments of doubt—when results fall short, and we begin to question the path we’ve chosen. Thoughts cloud our judgment, confidence falters, and frustration takes center stage. It’s like being stuck in a bad play, anxiously awaiting the final curtain so we can escape the theater and leave it all behind.
These are times when we find a deeper truth about who we are as creatives. Within the so-called "failures,” hidden gems may be revealed, reigniting that momentum we so badly need to continue.

Open Studio is about all of this—the messy beginnings, the disappointments, and those fleeting, magical moments that make it all worthwhile. Here, I’ll share my work through thoughts, photographs, and videos, and I hope that by opening my studio, you’ll see that the way you see the world is yours and yours alone.
Welcome to Open Studio.
love, Renée

I can't wait to see your work and join you in your studio.
Every space you touch, you make lovely. You have art in your DNA and it finds so many forms to express itself. From an exquisitely tied bow to a beautifully placed flower to a studio arranged to create art to your actual work ...the things you touch bloom. No wonder you write so well about the process. It has been a marvel to witness your artistic journey, Renee. I remember those early lessons and watching your style evolve and change and sharpen. And here you are, a true artist. I will follow this journey with great interest and appreciation for your art and you.
